PRIVACY
It
used to be that a secret could be told by simply whispering it in
someone's ear. Or, go for a walk in the woods and be sure that no one
is following. That can still be done, but if you are targeted
sufficiently, even that whisper in the woods will be intercepted and
will NOT be a secret.
More likely, however, that "someone" you want to tell is too far away to whisper in their ear.
Things
like secrets can be lumped into a broader category we call PRIVACY.
Privacy is keeping ones affairs to ones' self. Is this illegal?
unlawful? immoral? (see Is Privacy Bad)
IS PRIVACY BAD?
"BAD" is a reference to morality, specifically immorality.
What is moral / immoral?
It
depends upon who you ask, and when. PT's generally define morality as
"causing no unwarranted harm or injury to another". In other words -
you leave me alone and unharmed and I'll leave you alone and unharmed.
This is moral and good.
Big Brother (BB, government, gummint,
any repressive regime), on the other hand may decide that it needs to
act in the place of GOD and know everything and control everything. If
you accept BB as your God, then it has a right to know and control you.
Otherwise, BB is just a bunch of wolves voting to see if sheep should be on the menu.
So, the question: "Is eating sheep immoral?" The answer depends on whether you are a wolf or a sheep.
Is
it immoral for a sheep to hide from a wolf? I think most people would
say "NO", because sheep don't harm wolves. However the wolf would
definitely say "YES!".
Is it immoral for a wolf to hide (think
little red riding hood) from sheep? Absolutely, because the wolf is
using privacy to harm (eat) the sheep. (but the wolf would say "NO, all
the better to eat you with!"
This is a "eat or be eaten" world.
If you are a sheep, it is probably in your best interest to hide (stay
private) from the wolves. All through nature, we see privacy in the
form of camouflage and hiding. This privacy is used by animals to keep
from being eaten and to better eat others. Is privacy valuable? we
believe it is necessary for survival!
Bottom line - only YOU can decide if privacy is valuable to you and what it's worth.
Our recommendation - "If you are a sheep, protect your privacy from wolves."
TECHNOLOGY
Technology
has allowed us to talk with that special someone many miles away. And,
for a while, we could do that quite privately. However, the same
technology that allowed our distant communication has now cut deeply
into our privacy. Without working actively, there is no privacy.
It's for this reason that we offer tools (based on technology) to recover your privacy.
BOTTOM LINE:
If
you want privacy you need technology to overcome other technology that
has destroyed privacy. We will teach you how to use that privacy saving
technology.
